
Kilcock has experienced tremendous growth in recent years and boasts direct motorway and rail links to Dublin City Centre. It is situated c. 19 miles west of Dublin just off the M4 motorway and is c. 4 miles west of the University town of Maynooth. Kilcock is identified in the Kildare County Development Plan 2005 as being part of a dynamic cluster (Celbridge, Kilcock, Leixlip and Maynooth).
The Mountbrook Group acquired the Zed Candy factory in Kilcock town centre in 2006 following a competitive tender process. This site comprises a town centre zoned site extending to 2.02ha. and is zoned ‘town centre’ within the Kildare County Development Plan 2005 – 2011.
Having held detailed pre-planning consultations with local interest groups and the officers of Kildare County Council, a mixed use scheme incorporating approximately 10,200 Sq. m. (172,000 Sq. ft.) of Retail development, 180 Residential Apartments, Offices, Medical Centre and various Community Facilities has recently been granted planning permission.
